The Scottish Premiership

The Scottish Premiership is a professional football competition based in Scotland. It is the top-tier football league in the country, representing the pinnacle of Scottish football.

League Features

The Scottish Premiership consists of twelve clubs that compete each season for the championship title. The competition is renowned for its high intensity and quality of play, with teams battling each season for the title and to avoid relegation.

Competition Level

As the level 1 competition in the Scottish football hierarchy, the Scottish Premiership represents the highest level of football in the country. Matches are often fiercely contested, providing spectators with an exciting and unpredictable experience.

History and Organisation

The Scottish Premiership was established in 2013, replacing the Scottish Premier League. It is organised by the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL). Each season, teams play against each other three times, for a total of 33 matches. Following this, the league is split into two sections of six teams, each playing an additional five matches. This results in a total of 38 matches per season for each team.
